With attractive dark green compound foliage 'Mainz' is a handsome clump forming foliage plant spring through fall. Yet early to mid summer, during its terrific floral display, it bears such a multitude of dark lavender rose plumes one hardly notices the leaves. Nice with other astilbes, especially pinks and whites, 'Mainz' is excellent with a host of other clump forming perennials.
