While there are lots of Coreopsis selections available, 'Heliot' is a true standout, and has won the prestigious Fleuroselect Gold Medal for its profusion of deep red centered, brilliant yellow summerborne flowers which nearly obscure its vibrant green foliage. 'Heliot' may be used enmasse, in small groups or alone. As a companion it is complementary to other Coreopsis cultivars of different flower color, to lavenders, Liatris, coneflowers, garden phlox, ornamental grasses, Gaillardia, and many other perennials.
