Also during summer, its dense mounds of foliage are adorned with numerous spikes of purple flowers, appreciated for cut flower arrangements. 'Grand Prize' will thrive in well-drained soils in the shade and is lovely in combination with Cimicifuga, Heuchera, blue leaved hostas, Rodgersia, Tiarella, and sedges.
