From Chris Hansen's breeding efforts, 'Firecracker' forms low-growing mounds of bright cherry red foliage, splendid in appearance and holding its color throughout summertime heat. And in case the foliage isn't exciting enough, an explosion of large pink flower heads liven up the display in late summer. 'Firecracker' is drought tolerant and makes a superb small to large scale groundcover, and combines well with Alliums, daylilies, yarrow, Veronicas, dwarf fountain grasses, and almost any other sedum.
