'Candy Mountain' foxglove is a domineering plant that produces hefty rosettes of downy green leaves. In their own respect these are commanding but later serve as the launch pad for 4-foot, upright, rocket shaped flower spikes. Claimed to be the first foxglove with upward facing flowers, its rose pink blooms with spotted throats are easily enjoyed from above. Though a biennial, 'Candy Mountain' will self-seed for lasting enjoyment and is happiest in a moist, acidic, organically rich soil. Effective companions include Corydalis, German Iris, coral bells, coreopsis, and Japanese blood grass.
