Of hybrid origin, 'Branford Beauty' was developed by crossing Japanese painted fern and lady fern. The resulting plant is a beautiful selection with the leaf color of Japanese painted fern combined with the more upright habit of the lady fern. Quick to mature but slow spreading, 'Branford Beauty' is an excellent choice for mass planting, ground cover, edging, and accent planting. It is carefree, disease resistant and easy to grow. Companions include such ferns as robust male fern and thick stemmed wood fern as well as hostas, wildflowers, sedges, and many other shade tolerant ground covers and perennials.
